THERMAL INSULATION (Hot & Cold)

Rockwool Mattress is used for both hot and cold insulation to conserve energy, maintain process temperature, provide personnel protection, prevent condensation and reduce noise level. Rockwool mattresses are used for thermal insulation of pipes, tanks, equipments, boilers, electrostatic precipitators. Flues and ventilation ducts, ovens, furnaces, kilns and fire insulation of fire doors.

It is a precisely engineered bonded fibrous insulation that offers maximum resistance to the passage of heat. Rock wool Fibers are  spun from selected rocks, melted at 1600°C and blended to a  carefully adjusted chemical composition. Its centrifugally spun fibers have a diameter 1/20th that of human hair. These are felted using state-of-the-art technology into bonded and cured slabs to optimum density and resilience.

Rock wool Mattress has excellent stability and has no chicken feathering which pollutes the atmosphere during application. It has controlled thickness and density resulting in predictable heat losses.

Rock wool Pipe Insulation

Rock wool Pipe Insulation products are available for hot face temperatures up to 750’C. Rock wool Pipe Insulation is supplied as one-piece sections of one meter length, up to 4” and in two sections for 4” N.B. and above slit along the longitudinal axis. Sections are easily installed by opening the slit and springing the section into position over the pipe.

ACOUSTIC INSULATION Glass

Glass wool is a synthetic mineral fiber that is made of long glass wool bounded with thermosetting resin has found its way into domestic, commercial and industrial buildings as a thermal and acoustic insulation product.

Characteristic Glass wool offers the best mix of advantages for insulation:-

1.Thermal Resistance
2. Acoustical Absorption
3.Fire resistance
4. Lightness
5.Environmentally friendly
6. Easy Installation

      PANELLING

Panelling is a wall covering constructed from rigid or semi-rigid components. These are traditionally interlocking wood, but could be plastic or other materials.

Panelling was to make rooms more comfortable. The panels served to insulate the room from the cold as well as help in acoustics. In more modern buildings, such panelling is often installed for decorative purposes.

DECK COVERING

Increasingly sophisticated technology has meant that shipping and shipbuilding industries are receiving more and more exacting demands from ship-owners and passengers.Today, ship flooring has to carry out a wide range of different functions-from sound and fire protection to safety and design features.

Repair and renovation of Deck Flooring jobs entail: Area,Breaking and removal of old composition and clearing the area, Grinding and wire-brushing the bare plates.

Primer Coating of the plate before application of Deck Covering (Curing time approx.. 4-5 hours) Application of Deck Composition, depending upon the requirement and thickness which could range from normal cement composition to specialized Flooring.

There could be a composition coat which could be 3mm, 6mm to 12mm as required. Depending on the flooring requirement in accommodation areas, there could be an underlay before the ‘Top Coat’ which could be 12mm to 50 or even 75mm in thickness.

Further Carpets, Marblex, PVC tiles or linoleum, Vinyl sheets can be used on top. Hico has its flagship product – ‘Hicolite Base Underlay’ & ‘Hicolite Top Coat’

FRP (Fibre-Reinforced Plastic)

Fibre-reinforced plastic is a composite material made of a   polymer matrix reinforced with fibers. The fibres are usually glass, carbon, basalt or aramid, although other fibres such as paper or wood or asbestos have been sometimes used. They are best suited for any design program that demands Weight savings, precision engineering, finite tolerances, and the simplification of parts in both production and  operation.

FRP can be applied to strengthen the beams, columns, and slabs  of buildings and bridges. It is possible to increase the strength of structural members even after they have been severely damaged due to loading conditions. In the case of damaged reinforced concrete members, this would first require the repair of the member by removing loose debris and filling in cavities and cracks with mortar or epoxy resin. Once the member is repaired, strengthening can be achieved through wet, hand lay-up of impregnating the fibre sheets with epoxy resin then applying them to the cleaned, prepared surface of the member.

FLOATING FLOOR INSULATION (Rockwool)

The Floating Floor Insulation is designed for universal applications on ships and offshore installations. It consists of a specially developed Rockwool insulation material surfaced by steel plate. This special insulation adds significantly to the strength of the surface. It has high load bearing capacity with steel surface and allows easy and fast installation. The floating floor serves the purpose of absorbing vibrations and sound that spread through the steel deck.
